Our Video Template Editor comes together with OurQFace Free 1.0. After installing OurQFace Free 1.0, to run the Video Template Editor, click:

Start -> Programs -> Gemini Info -> OurQFace Free 1.0 -> Video Template Editor

The following Video Template Editor window will appear:

2. How to extract image files from your video template AVI file?
To convert your video template AVI file to image files, the steps are as follows:
  1. Click the [AVI to Files] tab near the top-left corner of the Video Template Editor window to reach the tab as shown in the above picture.
  2. Key-in or select the "Input AVI File" which is your video template AVI file.
  3. Key-in or select the "Output Folder" which is the folder where the extracted BMP image files will be placed.
  4. Key-in or select the "First Output File" which is the file name of the first extracted BMP image file. Video Template Editor will automatically set 5-digit and add the .bmp file extension to the file name for you.
  5. Select the "File Step", which is the step between the 5-digit number of the extracted BMP image file names. You are advised to select "10" or more so that you can easily add your own new BMP image file to the extracted BMP image files later.
  6. Click the [Start] button to start the extraction.
  7. Once the extraction is completed, click the [Open Folder] button to open the "Output Folder" to reach your extracted BMP image files.

You can then use Microsoft Paint or any other image editor to edit the extracted BMP image files. You may also add or delete the BMP image files. The maximum number of BMP image files is 127. Note that the BMP image files must be edited according to the OurQFace Face Pattern Guidelines.

3. OurQFace Face Pattern Guidelines
The current OurQFace Face Pattern Guidelines are as follows:

  1. The user provided face will be superimposed onto a Face Pattern, if any, drawn within each image of the video template to represent the user provided face.
  2. The first Face Pattern must be a black face (6-byte BGR color code = 000000) with only two white eyes and one white mouth (6 byte BGR color code = FFFFFF).
  3. The two eyes must be of similar sizes.
  4. Each of the two eyes must be smaller in size than the mouth.
  5. The arrangement and sizes of the two eyes and the mouth must resemble those of a real human face.
  6. If the eyes and mouth of the Face Pattern is drawn rotated to the left or right, the superimposed user provided face will be rotated as well. Furthermore, the size of the superimposed user provided face varies proportionally with the size of the Face Pattern.
  7. The user provided background will be superimposed onto the empty background area of the video template. This empty background area must be in the same colour.

Future versions of OurQFace software will add in the following additional guidelines:

  1. More colour codes for the second and more Face Patterns, so that you can add in 2 or more different faces. Instead of making fun of one of your friend, you can then make fun of 2 or more friends.
  2. Position of the eyes and mouth relative to the whole Face Pattern. This will allow faces tilted at various angles.
  3. Specification for the shape of the eyes and mouth of the Face Pattern. Example: eye open, eye closed, mouth open, mouth closed. This will allow faces of various facial expressions.
